Finland
Fell, snow, and a sky that keeps changing colour. Lapland skiing is unlike the Alps: gentle, wide-open fells, uncrowded slopes, and light that turns the snow pink and blue for hours at a time. This journey is built around that, with a private instructor or guide at your side every day, so the pace is yours and nothing is left to arrange. Base yourself in Levi, with ski-in access to over 40 slopes. Beginners and families spend the first days with a private instructor, while confident skiers go further, with a guided off-piste day in fresh powder away from the pistes. One day takes you to neighbouring Ylläs, a quieter fell with long, wide runs. Another is for the cross-country tracks, a slower way to see the Arctic forest in near silence. Evenings are for recovering: a private sauna, a long dinner, and, when the sky allows, a pursuit of the northern lights beyond the lights of the resort. Private throughout, with an executive transfer, a personal host, and all equipment, passes, and lessons arranged in advance.
Day 1
Private transfer from Kittilä Airport to your accommodation in Levi, about 15 minutes. Settle in, meet your host, and collect your winter clothing and ski equipment, fitted in advance of the morning. Evening in your private sauna, followed by a welcome dinner at your accommodation or a fine-dining restaurant.
Day 2
The countries this journey crosses.
Meet your private instructor at the slope for a relaxed first morning, with technique tuning for experienced skiers or foundations for beginners. Afternoon at your own pace on the fell, with a warm drink by a slopeside fire. Sauna and a quiet evening.
Day 3
A full day of skiing with your instructor, exploring the longer runs on Levi's different fell faces. Lunch at a slopeside restaurant of your choice. Evening aurora watch from your accommodation, weather permitting.
Day 4
Confident skiers head off the marked slopes with a certified guide to find fresh snow, with safety gear and briefing provided. Guests who prefer to stay on the pistes continue with their instructor on a separate programme. Closing the day with a hot drink by the fire.
Day 5
A private drive to Ylläs, about an hour away, for a day on a quieter fell with wide, uncrowded runs. Lunch on the mountain, with the afternoon open for skiing or a spa visit. Return to Levi for the evening.
Day 6
A slower day: a guided cross-country skiing outing through quiet forest, followed by a warm lunch by an open fire. In the evening, a private northern lights excursion away from the resort lights, with hot drinks and a campfire.
Day 7
A relaxed breakfast, then a private executive transfer to Kittilä Airport for your onward flight home.
