Finland
Long light, quiet hooves, and the whole forest to yourself. In summer, Lapland barely goes dark. The sun lingers low across the treetops for hours, the air is cool and clean, and the forest is green, still, and almost empty. It is one of the most peaceful places in the world to ride, on sturdy northern horses bred for this landscape: calm, sure-footed, and happiest on a long trail. Days are spent in the saddle with a private guide who knows the trails, the horses, and the weather. Rides wind through birch and pine, along river banks, and out onto open fell and lakeshore, at a pace that lets you take in every detail. A short assessment on the first morning sets the week's pace to your level. Between rides there is time for stable visits, coffee by an open fire, and long, unhurried lunches. One night is spent in a private wilderness cabin deep in the forest, with a campfire dinner and a sky that stays light well into the night. Evenings are for slowing down: a private lakeside sauna, a swim in the cool lake if you like, and a quiet dinner. Private throughout, with an executive transfer, a personal host, and all riding equipment and outdoor clothing arranged in advance.
Day 1
Private transfer from Rovaniemi Airport to your accommodation. Settle in, collect your outdoor clothing, and meet your host and riding guide for a relaxed briefing on the week. Evening in your private sauna, followed by a welcome dinner at your accommodation or a fine-dining restaurant, with the sun still high in the sky.
The countries this journey crosses.
Day 2
After breakfast, a private transfer to the stable. Meet your horse, learn to groom and tack up, and begin with a short assessment ride so your guide can match the week's trails to your level. Afternoon ride through the nearby forest, followed by coffee by the fire.
Day 3
A full morning in the saddle along quiet forest tracks and the banks of the river, with stops for photographs and hot drinks. Lunch by an open fire. A gentler afternoon ride, then a lakeside sauna and a quiet evening.
Day 4
Ride out with your guide towards a private wilderness cabin, with luggage transferred separately. Arrive by late afternoon, settle in, and enjoy a campfire dinner in the forest. Stay up as late as you like: the sky stays light, and the forest is silent.
Day 5
A late, relaxed breakfast at the cabin, then a ride back through a different stretch of forest and open fell. Return to your accommodation for a long sauna and a rest.
Day 6
Choose your final ride: a longer trail for confident riders, or a slower ride with more time at the stable. Afternoon visit to the Arctic Circle line. Closing farewell dinner at a fine-dining restaurant, with a menu of local fish, game, and wild berries.
Day 7
A late breakfast, then a private executive transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your onward flight home.
